Wellness Warrior, The Dr. Oz Show
Bonnie had been heavy her whole life. At age 44, she decided to take control of her body and her health. Through hard work, determination and focus, she lost 130 lbs the old fashioned way - with exercise and moderating her diet. Despite being in menopause and never before exercising, she changed her metabolism through resistance training and weight lifting. She is now 47 and 143 lbs. Her blood pressure, cholesterol and overall health are all normal due to working out and eating a healthy, low-fat, low-glycemic diet.
This journey has been a careful, slow, 2-year process but one that will last the rest of her life. Her genuine, kind spirit and enthusiasm for helping others landed her on The Dr. Oz Show. She says, "If I can do it, anybody can do it! You just have to really want it, and just start walking!"
Her hope is to continue to share her story with others in the pursuit of changing America's waistline, one pound at a time. She is proud to have been selected as a Wellness Warrior and gained a platform to share her recipes and personal insight on obesity.
In the last year, Bonnie has transformed her career as well. She is now an AAAI certified fitness trainer, personal chef, and motivational coach. Bonnie teaches people how to transform their bodies at the gym and in the kitchen, giving others the tools and knowledge of how to continue their own weight loss journey.
