Pulling Yourself Back Up

I felt compelled this week to write this blog about getting back on the wagon. With Easter here, a lot of temptations surround me. I know that I am not the only being tempted. It feels like my past is here to haunt and tempt me. So, I decided that I wasn’t going to give in!

I felt compelled this week to write this blog about getting back on the wagon. With Easter here, a lot of temptations surround me. I know that I am not the only being tempted. It feels like my past is here to haunt and tempt me. So, I decided that I wasn’t going to give in!

My son and daughter have had Easter egg hunts at their school and parties galore this week, and they have brought home tons and tons of candy. We went through it each night and I could feel myself eating 1 piece here and 1 piece there! Before I realized it, I had eaten 4 pieces of chocolate!

If you are feeling tempted, either walk away or eat a piece and move on! Don’t let that sabotage your new healthy way of eating. It’s life and it’s going to happen. And, it will happen again, trust me. Not only because it’s a holiday, but it could be a bad day and you’re in the candy aisle in the grocery store! Empower yourself and stay focused and I can promise you nothing feels or tastes as good as going down a size in your jeans!

I also challenge you to teach your kids a new habit this week! While I let my kids eat one treat after dinner, I let them pick their 3 favorite pieces of candy and we threw the rest away. In their Easter baskets, they will get their favorite candy, but they understand that they should eat it in moderation. Remember, M&M’s taste the same whether you eat 2, or the whole bag.

Here is to an empowering you! Have a great week.
