Hey, this is Gunnar Peterson. Here’s a brief intro as to why I’ve joined Dr. Oz’s Just 10 Team. I’ve been a trainer in Los Angeles for 22 years. A lot longer than there have been bloggers! I was a fat kid growing up, including going to Weight Watcher’s meetings as a 10-year-old in Houston, Texas. Pretty. I played a ton of sports growing up and I was way more active than was good for my parent’s sanity. I also ate bad food and plenty of it. While I wasn’t obese, I certainly could have used a training bra. Again, pretty.

I got into Duke University and fitness at just about the same time. My body changed, my self-esteem rocketed, and I really felt like I was on my way. But, it wasn’t until after college when I began watching what I ate, quality AND quantity, that I really learned what it meant to be in control of my own body. I went from passenger to co-pilot, to flying solo. Now THAT, is empowering.


Cut to, I had back surgery 10 years ago so I know way more about back pain and rehab than I wish I did. I train 8-11 people every day in my gym in L.A. STILL, and I wouldn’t have it any other way! I love it. I love going to work in the morning and if I didn’t have my 3 perfect kids to come home to I wouldn’t leave!

Dr. Oz’s Just 10 is a brilliant idea! It is such a sensible approach to tackling the health/fitness/obesity situation that plagues our great nation. It’s direct, simple, logical, and DOABLE! I have heard way too many people say that it’s "impossible" to lose weight. Well, it’s not. And, everything you do towards that end will help you do any and everything else in your life just a little bit better. Besides, it’s cumulative! It’s like your health and fitness savings account! It works for you, it doesn’t just cost you. Finally, an approach that is not daunting. You can do this. Yes, YOU, can do this!

I’m looking forward to posting some things that will help you stay on track. No magic, just straight-to-the-point-fitness gospel that will work for you if you work at it. Once we get to the place where you actually enjoy it (you’ll get there, I promise) it will feel like you’ve stepped on the accelerator to reaching your goals.

I’m fired up to do this with you and I am honored to be a part of this team! Darn, I wish I had come up with Just 10!
