We all know that stress can lead to overeating or eating junk food. Five years ago, I made a decision to transform my life from ordinary to extraordinary! I transformed myself inside and out. Now, I would like to share a little of how I maintain my weight loss as I continue on my never ending journey, which at times can be stressful.

As most of you know, I moved to Florida this past August. I had a cute, two bedroom place that I adored, a full-time job with flexible hours and a new gym with great people. I also had my best friend right next door to me. I thought I had it all, until one day I had an overwhelming feeling—a feeling I had never experienced before. Even though I had everything I wanted, I didn’t have my girls with me. They were in Connecticut.

Thankfully, I was prepared for this stressful time and being prepared is key. I had no junk food in my apartment, I made sure I didn’t miss my workouts and I remembered that change is good. I am my own boss. I knew that if moving back to Connecticut was going to help me, then that is what I was going to do. I knew I had to listen to what my intuition was trying to tell me.

Five years ago, I wouldn’t have been able to handle any of this. I would have been overeating and taking medications, which, as we all know, are only band-aids to cover up a problem. I’ve learned to always remember to put myself first and to choose going to the gym and eating healthy, which leaves me full of extra energy and a natural high!

I held it all together and moved back to Connecticut. Don’t get me wrong, I miss Florida in so many ways, but what I learned is that I’m stronger than I thought I was. I put myself first, even in stressful times. I listened to my gut feeling.

I believe that everything happens for a reason. My 3 girls are happy to have me back in Connecticut and so is my job, my gym and my friends and family.

At the end of Chapter 11 of the book I’m writing, it will say this:

I did what I wanted to do. I moved to Florida and worked hard to have everything I wanted. I came back to Connecticut for my girls. So, cheers to me for all I did and for coming back. No one can tell you what to do. You must experience life your way or you’ll never know what you’re missing. That’s exactly what I did.
