Learn It, Earn It, Return It: My Gift

I ran the Manchester Turkey Day Road Race with my team of 3 in our matching Wellness Warrior t-shirts! I am beyond proud of both Jamie and Brenda for finishing the 4.7 mile race with me. I learned how to stay fit and healthy, and I’ve been doing my best to help Jamie with eating healthy and getting fit. I have watched her give up 3 different kinds of medications. She has taken several of my kick-boxing classes, and also trained, both with me and on her own, to run the race with me! Jamie has also now lost 25 pounds. She has 30 more pounds to go and I will help her reach that goal!

As Jamie and I were standing at the starting line, she turned to me and said “You know, Jen, I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for you. You are my inspiration. Thank you.” I was so taken back by such a huge heartfelt statement from her that it almost had me in tears.

Jamie ran the entire race, minus maybe 20 steps or so. I cheered her on right to the finish line. The pure bliss and happiness I felt when she crossed that finish line with me was one of the best gifts I’ve ever got!

Brenda also thanked me for being her inspiration, and even though Brenda only walked the race, she was thrilled with the energy level and with the awesome people that lined the streets and cheered us all on as we ran! Next year, Brenda said she is running the whole race instead of walking it. Good for you, Brenda. Way to set those goals! I will be there to practice with you and I’m so happy you did it!

What I’ve really learned is how to take care of myself. I’ve earned my good health by exercising, eating right, and learning to teach kick-boxing and weight lifting classes at my gym, which I’ve put countless hours into. Teaching is my passion.

Now finally I am able to return to you some of my knowledge of eating healthy, exercise and teaching! I get to give back to my fans, friends, family, and all of you who read my blogs and take my classes at the gym. What an amazing gift I have been given here on my journey in life; the gift of returning what I’ve learned and earned!

Thank you Dr. Oz! You continue to change my life. A teacher on any level is never something I thought I would be, but yet it has turned out to be the best thing that has ever happened to me on many levels! A heartfelt thank you also to my fans, friends and followers!

Jamie and Brenda rock on, you 2 did it and I couldn’t be happier for you both!
