My Long Goodbye…

I have 36 more days to say good bye before I move to Tampa. I’ve given my notice at work and the gym. I continue to bust my butt working hard every day to get to where I’m going and I’m realizing that I’m going out at the top of my game. Both at work and the gym, I’m surrounded by positive, caring and supportive people who are happy for me! I am so thankful for each and every one of them, because not everyone is happy for me, but like I always say, “That’s OK, I’m sorry you feel that way.”

After I gave my notice at the gym, the owners sent me this note and it brought me to tears. I’d like to share what they wrote with you.

Hi Jen –

Your level of professionalism and enthusiasm will surely be missed by the Sims Team as well as the many members you have touched with your infectious spirit. We truly appreciate the time you have invested in perfecting your craft as a group fitness instructor and mentor to so many. Please know that our doors will always be open to you and we wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.

If you need any references please do not hesitate to ask! You have been and continue to be a wonderful instructor and we are just as sad to see you move away from us. We have some tough shoes to fill and we want to thank you for working with the newer instructors and getting them ready to teach during this transition period.

Thanks again for all of your hard work, time and dedication. You have been an outstanding team member and we will miss you greatly!

Sarah and Peter

Thank you from the bottom of my heart, Sarah and Peter. This means more to me than you’ll ever know. It’s not about the money for me, it’s about doing what I love to do: teaching and giving back to the members who I just adore and will miss greatly! Don’t get me wrong, money helps, but the feeling I get when I’m on that stage teaching is the best feeling I’ve ever had. I feel so alive when I teach and thank you for letting me have that opportunity.

My journey has been a crazy one indeed. I’ve climbed some serious mountains and I still have many more ahead of me. The key has been that despite what others said or thought, I pushed forward and I became an excellent fitness instructor! Now I continue on my journey with my move to Tampa and I will continue to listen to what lies within. I’m starting all over again, taking what I’ve done and sharing it with as many of you as I can.

Although I’m excited about my move, I have a happy sadness within me because of my long goodbye. My last days at the gym and work are going to be tough, because I care for you all so very much.

Dr. Oz, it’s amazing what you have done for my life, physically and mentally. You have taught me many things; how to eat right, exercise, meditate, stay positive and so much more! When I appeared on your show to thank you, I did not even realize how much better my life would continue to get. Without you, I would never be where I am today. I’ve always said you were my hero and my teacher. I want you to know that I’m doing my best to share with the world everything you have given me!
