A new study out of Europe indicates that children who ate 3 or more burgers a week were more prone to asthma and wheezing, while children that consumed more fruits and fish were less prone. Anyone surprised? We’re comparing something that is full of saturated fat and calories with fruits, an anti-disease wonder food and lean omega-3 fish. But the study did not just focus on meat; it looked even further into other habits that individuals were most likely to have when they ate burgers. It looked at overall lifestyle of junk food and unhealthy food choices.
What else will come out in the coming years as we further examine our diets? If YOU are focusing on eating healthy, mainly from plants, then you need not worry. A lot of these studies with their scary results look at individuals that get no bang for their nutritional back. If you stay on course to only put foods in your mouth that provide benefit, then these studies can remain someone else’s problem.
