There are many things I have incorporated in my life along my Journey to Wellness and I want to share one of them with you today. I want to share with you my “thankful journal.” This idea was presented to me by my trainer, Julie. I keep a food diary and would be lost without it, but this “thankful journal” really makes me think about my journey and how exciting it is for me. I am truly thankful for so many things in my life and one of them is being able to share parts of my journey with all of you.
When this idea was first presented to me I thought, a thankful journal? Really? How is this relevant or helpful to me on my journey to wellness? Well, it has been very helpful for me as it has made me realize how many things in my life I am truly thankful for, and also made me realize some of the things that I was taking for granted.
My routine everyday is the same. I get up around 5 or 6 a.m., do my work out, write in my thankful journal, eat breakfast and then I start my day. My thankful journal is part of my daily routine. I simply write down 5 things that I am thankful for and think about why they are so important in my life. You will be surprised at what you write down and will learn a little more about yourself every day. For me it has tapped into my spirituality and made me realize how fortunate I am for the people and things that are in my life.
My journey to wellness is an ongoing learning experience for me and this thankful journal has been a great addition. Give it a try and see if it works for you!
