It is getting easier to not want a diet soda, but harder to avoid reaching for something with calories in it when I could have a diet soda. Filmed an episode for the Oz show at a first grade today for the Oct 4th launch of our new book, YOU: Raising Your Child: The Owner's Manual from First Grade to First Breath. It was a ton of fun without temptation for afternoon sodas. I've even taller than most first graders. This was at the Louisa May Alcott School in Cleveland. Every school should have such a great principal. The first grade teacher reminded me of mine from a lot of years ago – I could have a crush on her too. (Don't worry, Nancy, I am totally captivated by you). Went to the clinic yearly staff meeting – Party Like a Rock Star was the theme – 5 of the clinic’s 2,300 staff docs retired and each roasted the clinic. It was fun. Also, the Clinic has a theme. Giving Time to Patients was this year’s; there was also a buffet dinner and band. The party used to be without spouses (till about 4 years ago when too few of the 2,300 attended). So tonight, over 1,000 came. Lot of fun today, including that first grade class. Shutting down the kitchen or even eating (when out) after 8:30 p.m. for the Just 10 Challenge is a great rule. Only water, celery, and coffee after 8:30 p.m.
