My Constant Companion

You should only have BPA in your life in a few areas—basil, parsley and anise. Or, how about bananas, peppers and apples? You are getting my drift, right? One of the first things I bought when I began my weight loss journey was a BPA-free water bottle. You can either find plastic that is free of the chemical, or you can just purchase a stainless steel canteen. Water is so important for our body and organs. As I lost weight, water played a huge role in my success!

Fat, in essence, is toxins stored inside our cells. When my body releases these toxins, let me tell ya, I want them flushed out! Dr. Oz’s book points out that sweating and urinating helps to eliminate toxins out of our body at lightning speed! Because staying hydrated is so important, it’s recommended to drink 8-12 8 oz. glasses of water every day, which may sound daunting. But what if I told you that I only drank 3 large glasses a day? Doesn’t that just sound more do-able?

Most of these BPA-free water bottles are on average 32 oz. If I even managed to drink 2 full bottles, I was doing well! Recent studies from the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism explained that subjects that drank at least 16 oz. of water at a time experienced increased metabolism after consumption. This same affect was not found after drinking other beverages. Water has so many great benefits, and I truly found that while I was on my weight loss journey that the more water I drank, the faster I lost weight.

My water bottle became my new best friend! It is convenient to take with you and easy to wash. You can find these great bottles at virtually any big retail store in your area. In fact, I don’t go anywhere without my bottle. I take it into restaurants, movie theatres, dinner parties, work, in the car, and to the gym. I think the only place it doesn’t come with me is in the shower or to bed. Not only is it easy and convenient, but switching to a reusable container is great for the environment. Go green today and pick up a water bottle that is BPA-free.  It will help your body get much needed fluids while also helping the environment!
