I Don't Want To

I am 28 lbs down and things have been moving along rather smoothly for the last 90 days. I’m making healthy food choices, walking at least 3 times a week during my lunch break with my girlfriend, weight training 3 times a week, and getting those 10, 000 steps in daily. Committing to changing your lifestyle seems easy enough right? NOT!

Committing to changing your lifestyle seems easy enough right? NOT!

There are days that I am exhausted and exercising seems like another dreaded task. After a long day sometimes I just want to relax on the couch and do nothing, absolutely nothing. Then that newly developed healthy conscience kicks in overtime! I realize that these lazy moments are what contributed to my initial weight gain and I am reminded that I do not want to go back to being that person. So after a quick kick in the butt, a power-boosting snack and a reality check, I am up off the couch and moving.

Here comes the next obstacle: Old Man Winter. He brings quite a few “keep it moving” challenges but I am readily equipped to overcome them creatively the following ways:

  • Pop in the Real Age Work Out DVD
  • Get pumped with a Wii Fit Activity
  • Dress for the weather and go for a nice power walk or jog
  • Gather the kids, pop in some tunes and dance our hearts away
  • Hit the treadmill
  • Walk in place

As you can see there are tons of ways you can creatively work out when Old Man Winter try’s to keep you down. Why not try to think of how you can overcome obstacles that prevent you from exercising?
