There Is Strength in Numbers

When I sit back and think about the most important element in my weight loss journey, one word comes to mind– Support. I would not have been so successful without the love and support of so many people, some of whom I knew well, and others whom I had only shared a passing hello. There were always people to encourage me to push me along. I had friends and family that gathered together to walk, which made exercising so much fun. My trainer was instrumental in helping me see that I could do it and that I was strong. My fellow housewives were my strength when I was weak and felt like I could not go on. Co-workers and peers were there to say kind words and compliment my success. And who can forget “The Enforcer!” Dr. Michael F. Roizen was there to not only to rant and rave when I was missing my steps, but he was also there to help me understand the science behind weight gain, and to assist me in breaking bad habits and creating new ones. These people helped me and continue to help me press forward to a sleeker me.

I encourage anyone struggling to lose weight to tell others about their goals. By making your goals known you are having others hold you accountable. In turn, others will rally for you and before you know it you have your own team cheering you on. Go YOU!
