Since becoming one of the original Healthy Housewives of Oz, my life has changed drastically. I have met some wonderful people and created lasting bonds. I’ve rediscovered who I am and have developed a loving relationship with health and wellness.

What has been one of the greatest experiences has been the opportunity to have Dr. Michael Roizen as a mentor and coach. With his assistance, fellow Wellness Warrior Toni Winston and I formed YOU Gals, where our mission is to “touch lives one waist at a time.” This has been such a rewarding part of my life. We have learned how to coach others and assist them on their weight loss journeys. We have been given the opportunity to take everything we have learned along the way and pass that valuable information along to others. We can help them to reach their goals and celebrate in their successes.

I am so proud of the successes that our friends are achieving and would love to share with you the story of our close friend, Jackie Greenwood. Jackie had read one of my blog posts and reached out me. I really do respond to all these wonderful emails. She told me that she had attended a taping of The Dr. Oz Show and after that show, immediately purchased the YOU: On A Diet book. She immediately began to implement the principles in her life.

As most mothers, wives and caretakers, Jackie found that she was in a cycle of putting others before herself. The book helped her to realize that she had to begin to make herself a priority, and so Jackie made some serious changes really quickly. She began to carve out exercise time. She emptied her pantry and implemented healthy meal options for herself and her family. And she leaned on You Gals for support and encouragement and learned how to end the vicious cycle of getting on and off the weight loss wagon.

I am so excited to say that Jackie has lost a total 55 pounds to date! She has experienced success in that her personality, thought process, confidence, self-worth, attitude, and relationships (essentially everything) has changed for the better. She has made exercise a priority in her life and ensures that she rises early in the morning to get in those 10,000+ steps daily. She has truly become an inspiration to others. We love Jackie and she is truly a testament that “teamwork makes the dream work!”

I encourage readers to stop riding along the weight loss journey alone. Reach out to others for assistance and don’t be afraid to implement changes and put yourself first.
