Aaron's White Bean, Tomato and Chile Pizza

Pizza is a staple dish, but it’s easy to get carried away with the cheese and less-than-healthy toppings. Celebrity chefs Todd English, Candice Kumai and Aaron Sanchez took on the challenge of making a weight-loss friendly version. While each pie has a different healthy hook, they’re all delicious!

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup fresh roman tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 15 oz. can great northern or navy beans, drained
  • 2 cloves garlic, peeled and chopped
  • 1/4 tsp Mexican dried oregano
  • 1 10 oz. thin crust pre-made pizza crust
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped cilantro
  • 1/2 cup shredded, reduced fat mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 tsp dried chile powder

Directions

Preheat oven to 425º F. Place beans, garlic and oregano in a food processor. Cover and blend until smooth. Spread bean paste over surface of pizza crust and top with tomatoes. Sprinkle with cilantro and reduced fat mozzarella cheese. Place pizza on an ungreased cookie sheet or pizza pan and bake for about 10 minutes or until cheese is melted. Garnish with fresh cilantro.
