Bison Sliders

Meat is a great source of vitamin B12. Why not kick normal burgers up a notch by using bison meat? Bison is leaner than beef, and 3 ounces are only 150 calories. It also has less saturated fat and is richer in omega-3 fats than grass-fed beef. These sliders are delicious and the perfect portion size, so you won't overdo it.

Makes 5 mini sliders

  • 1 lb ground 100% grass-fed bison meat
  • 1/3 cup finely diced shallots
  • 1/4 cup sliced scallions
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 2 tsp fresh thyme ( or 1 tsp dried thyme)
  • salt
  • pepper

In a medium bowl, mix all ingredients together. Form into 5 slider patties. Chill in refrigerator for about 10 to 20 minutes to firm up. Grill over high heat until cooked through to medium. Serve hot on a toasted mini whole grain bun or roll, with grilled veggies or avocado.
