When you have to adjust your favorite salad order to follow a new diet, croutons are among the first toppings to go. Not anymore—with this recipe from celebrity chef Rocco DiSpirito, you’ll have carb-free, guilt-free croutons in fewer than five minutes.
- Grated Parmesan cheese
1. Spread little circles of grated Parmesan cheese on parchment paper over a regular baking sheet or onto a non-stick grill or pan. Bake cheese at 400°F for 3-5 minutes until brown and crispy.
3. Let cool completely. Enjoy on top of your favorite salad.
Tip: You’ll add only 120 calories to your salad for every ounce of grated Parmesan you use to make the croutons.
