If you want to give your ketchup a kick, try adding harissa, a hot sauce that can rev up your metabolism, help you burn off calories, and give you a boost of anti-inflammatory and antioxidant nutrients too. Chef Roblé Ali's recipe is just what you need to start the new year off on the right foot. 

Ingredients

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 2 1/2 tbsp harissa (use more or less depending on heat preference)
  • 1 tsp honey
  • zest of half a lemon

Directions

1. Add all ingredients to a bowl and mix to combine.

 

2. Store in a container with a tight-fitting lid.

 

3. Can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 6 months.
