This heartburn smoothie from ear, nose, and throat specialist Dr. Jonathan Aviv, contains carob powder, a substance that has a similar taste as chocolate but is less acidic, which improves digestion and lowers cholesterol levels. Chocolate lovers everywhere can now rejoice without the burn!

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp carob powder
  • 1 tbsp almond butter
  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup almond milk

Directions

1. Place carob powder, rolled oats, vanilla extract, almond butter, banana, and almond milk into blender and blend until smooth.

 

2. Pour mixture into glass and serve.
