Dr. Junger's Spirulina Sprout Salad

Spirulina packs a mighty protein punch in each tiny amount. Make Dr. Alejandro Junger's nutritional powerhouse salad a part of your next meal.


  • 4 to 6 oz mixed greens
  • 1 large handful sunflower sprouts
  • 1 cup cucumber, roughly peeled and chopped
  • 1/4 cup raw hemp seeds
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • 1 large ripe avocado
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp spirulina powder


First, make the dressing.

In a blender, purée all the dressing ingredients until smooth, then set it aside.

In a large bowl, toss together the greens, sprouts and cucumber.

Drizzle the mixture with enough dressing to evenly coat everything.

Sprinkle in the hemp seeds and salt, toss to combine and serve.
