Dr. Vincent Pedre’s Chocolate-Covered Almond Smoothie

The secret ingredient in this smoothie is hemp hearts, the shelled seeds of the hemp plant. They are an amazing superfood, rich in omega-3 fatty acids, protein, vitamins, and enzymes. You can find them at many health-food stores.


  • 2 cups almond milk or coconut-almond milk
  • 2 tsp cacao powder
  • 2 tbsp almond butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp ground chia seeds
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 1/2-2 scoops protein powder
  • 1/4 cup hemp hearts


1.  Add all the ingredients in the order given to the blender. Blend until smooth.

2.  Add a few ice cubes if you prefer a cooler smoothie.
