The Original Buckwheat Pancakes

These buckwheat pancakes take health to a whole new level. A protein-packed seed, buckwheat can help lower cholesterol and blood pressure and maintain blood flow. So heat up your griddle and stack your plate high with these guilt-free pancakes. 


  • 6 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 6 tbsp buckwheat flour
  • 1 tsp white sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tbsp butter, melted
  • 3 tbsp butter


1. In a bowl, combine all-purpose flour, buckwheat flour, white sugar, salt, and baking soda.


2. In a separate bowl, combine buttermilk, egg, and melted butter.


3. Make a well in the middle of the dry ingredients and slowly pour in the buttermilk blend, mixing the ingredients together as you go.


4. Heat a pan with the rest of the butter and pour in the batter in sections. Use a ladle or an ice cream scoop to keep the portions equal.


5. Once air bubbles start to form, flip the pancake over. Once the underside is slightly brown, remove the pancake. 


6. Add a topping of your choosing.
