Sprouted Bread French Toast

Dr. Oz Bite Club member Lizzie experimented with sprouted grain bread to make this breakfast recipe. This healthier bread alternative can be found in the freezer section at your local grocery store. Enjoy plain or top with fresh berries for the ultimate start to your morning.

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf cinnamon date manna bread (in freezer section of the grocery store)
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 3 tsp sugar
  • dash of cinnamon
  • dash of nutmeg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil
  • honey (optional)
  • mixed berries (optional)

Directions

1. Mix flour, milk, sugar, vanilla, salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon in a bowl. 

 

2. Dip bread in mixture and fry in coconut oil until golden brown. 

 

3. Drizzle with honey and top with fresh berries.

 

**Note: Calorie count does not include optional honey or berries.
