Teriyaki Stir-Fry with Kombu and Shrimp

Adding seaweed to the mix just might do the trick; seaweed is a natural source of iodine, an essential component of thyroid hormones. Kelp, a type of seaweed, can help regulate your metabolism and potentially aid in weight loss.

Ingredients

  • 3 kombu kelp
  • 1/2 onion
  • 1/2 carrot
  • 1/2 broccoli
  • 7 oz shrimp
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Mirin

Directions

Soak kombu kelp in water till kelp gets soft for 30 minutes.

Cut kombu kelp into square and onion, carrot and broccoli into bite size.

Pour olive oil on a frying pan and stir shrimp in until cooked. Add broccoli, carrot, onion and kombu kelp into pan and stir.

Once vegetables are tender, add Mirin and soy sauce and simmer.
