Watermelon and Basil Margaritas

This cocktail is unlike the girly, slushy drinks you see in bars these days. It’s a grown-up version: not so sweet but really refreshing with herbal notes. Plus, each serving isn’t very strong, so you can enjoy a drink without feeling guilty.

Makes 4 1/2 cups


  • 4 cups watermelon cubes
  • 3 lime juices
  • 1 lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup orange liqueur (Triple Sec)
  • 3/4 cup tequila
  • 2 tbsp chopped basil leaves


Put all ingredients in a blender and process until very smooth.

Pour over ice, garnish with some basil leaves and lime. Serve and enjoy!
