Banana Ginger Energy Smoothie

Added to Recipes on Thu 10/04/2012

This creamy smoothie uses ginger, which is one of the best ingredients for reflux. Also, yogurt and milk are both acid neutralizers that help keep reflux at bay.

Serves 3

1/2 cup ice

2 cups milk

2 bananas, ripe

1 cup yogurt

1/2 tsp fresh ginger, peeled and grated fine

2 tbsp brown sugar or honey (optional)

In a blender, add the ice, milk, yogurt, bananas, and ginger. Blend until smooth. Add sugar as needed.

  • I use lactose-free fat-free or 1 percent milk, but you can use any type of milk.
  • If you don’t like ginger or there’s none fresh, substitute 1/4 tsp orange zest or vanilla or almond extract.
  • This smoothie is delicious and combines many of the best reflux foods.
