Greek-Yogurt Substitution Recipes

Chocolate Chunk Strawberry and Cream Cheese Brownie Indulgence
Substituting 1/4 cup of Greek yogurt for every 1/3 cup of oil in baking can save you about 100 calories and 11 grams of fat per brownie!

 

Ingredients

 

Brownies
1 box of chocolate chunk brownie mix
3/4 cup Greek yogurt and 1 cup of water

 

Frosting
1 (8-oz) package of cream cheese at room temperature
1 1/4 cup vanilla Greek yogurt
4 tsp of vanilla extract
1/4 cup unsalted butter at room temperature
1 cup of confectioner’s (powdered) sugar

 

Topping
1 cup of fresh strawberries

Directions

To make the brownies: Mix 1 box chocolate chunk brownie box with 3/4 cup Greek yogurt and 1 cup water (these will replace the butter/oil) together, then line a baking dish with aluminum foil or parchment paper and pour brownie mixture into lined baking dish. Bake in oven uncovered for 20-25 minutes, then allow to completely cool.

To make the frosting: Mix cream cheese, vanilla extract, vanilla Greek yogurt, butter and confectioners’ sugar until smooth

 

To make the topping: Clean strawberries and remove stem tops, thinly slice.

 

After brownie is completely cooled, spread cream cheese frosting and top with strawberries. Enjoy!
