Dr. Oz's Prescription for a Day Off!

Everyone needs a day off every once in a while. They don't call it a mental health day for nothing! A break from your day-to-day stresses, be it work, kids, school or anything else, can be very beneficial to your well-being. Not only will it help to lower your stress, it can also lower your blood pressure, risk of heart disease, and boost your memory and concentration.

Dr. Oz's Prescription for a Day Off!

Dr. Oz knows how far a day of rest and relaxation can go, and he has just the prescription you'll need to get that time to recharge! All you need to do is print out your own copy of his Rx, take it in to work, school – or even to your husband – and let them know that a day off can help benefit your health. Even if this note only serves as a reminder that a little "me-time" is something you need to work into your day to help keep your mind and body at ease, make sure to take some time for yourself more often! Will you ever feel comfortable in your own skin? That is, if you don't make an effort to protect it? Although 64% of adults do report wearing sunscreen when outside for prolonged periods of time, it turns out that only about 10% of people surveyed actually protect themselves daily, according to a recent review.

No matter what your skin tone is, unless you live in a cave with no sunlight, daily protection with either sunscreen, sunblock or protective clothing can not only protect you from developing sunburns (ouch!) but can significantly reduce your risk of developing skin cancer, particularly the deadliest type called melanoma. In addition, for those of you wanting to keep your youthful looks, daily sunscreen has been shown to reduce the development of wrinkles. A great teacher once told me that the best way to not have wrinkles is not to get them in the first place (think of how much money you can save on useless creams that claim to diminish wrinkles).
