The Paleo Diet and the Vegan Diet seem like opposites of each other. How does this diet include both?
Although the Paleo Diet and the Vegan Diet have some differences, the key to Pegan 365 is what they have in common. Both the Paleo Diet and the Vegan Diet emphasize the importance of eating real, fresh food. They also both discourage eating processed foods, too many carbohydrates, and dairy. As long as you follow our simple 5-4-3-2-1 formula, you’ll be eating all the right things. It is possible to be paleo and vegan at the same time!
If I skip meals, will I lose more weight?
Although skipping meals will mean you are eating fewer calories and might lose more weight, we do not recommend it for this diet. Our 5-4-3-2-1 formula is designed to make sure you get all of the right nutrients each day, and if you skip meals or portions you may not be getting all of the fuel your body needs to survive.
How long should I stay on this diet?
The “365” in “Pegan 365” means this is a year-round diet. We want you to lose weight and keep it off for good, and sticking with this long-term plan is the best way to make that happen. If you want to stay on the diet longer than 365 days, even better! With Pegan 365 we’re not only giving you dieting tips, we’re teaching you lifestyle skills so you can easily stay on the diet as long as you want.
What should I drink while on this diet?
What if I am still hungry after eating all of my portions?
Pegan 365 suggests you eat 5+ cups of vegetables, 4 carbs, 3 proteins, 2 fats, and 1 non-dairy food. But sometimes you might have a busy day and will still be hungry after this. The key is the fact that you are not limited to 5 cups of vegetables, you can have 5 PLUS! So pick your favorite non-starchy vegetables and eat as many extra servings as you want! We don’t want you to go hungry.
Is there a daily calorie limit?
The recommended number of calories per day to maintain your weight is usually around 2,000 calories, but this depends on your age, sex, and activity level. However, the good news is that with Pegan 365 you don’t have to count calories! We will tell you how big your servings are and how many servings you should be having, so you don’t have to do any of that pesky counting yourself. Remember, just think 5-4-3-2-1!
I don’t usually eat meat. Do I have to eat meat to stay on this plan?
I love dairy. Do I really have to stop eating it?
On the typical day, Pegan 365 does not include any dairy. However, we know it may be hard to say goodbye to dairy for good, which is why Pegan 365 includes a weekly cheat day! It’s your birthday and you want chocolate birthday cake? Go for it! Craving a slice of cheese pizza? Enjoy! You can plan your cheat days for whenever you want and don’t have to worry about giving up your favorite foods forever.
