Health for the Holidays

A couple of weeks ago, we celebrated the finale of our Just 10 Challenge. We had nearly half a million people take control of their health and sign up to lose 10 pounds. I couldn’t be more proud, but the efforts don’t just end there. Any comprehensive weight-loss plan includes a maintenance component to keep the weight off. Unfortunately, even the best-laid plans can easily go awry during the holiday season, when we tend to be surrounded by temptation. It’s important to implement strategies to keep health at the forefront of our minds.

In that spirit, we’ve pooled our resources to help you. The Enforcer, Dr. Mike Roizen, offers a variety of strategies to survive the holidays. Some of our favorite chefs created and passed along healthy holiday recipes to serve as alternatives to traditional guilty pleasures. I created my own 12 Days of Christmas holiday guide to help you fight stress, boost your immunity, avoid weight gain and more. Our Team Oz Experts and Wellness Warriors have written holiday blogs summarizing their most important advice to get you through the season.

As we come together with our families and friends this holiday, remember that we are stronger together than individually. Your strength and dedication may be the inspiration and support that others need to begin their journey to wellness. Health is the best gift to give this season – to your loved ones and yourself.

@mariamenounos

Maria Menounos has been caring for her parents for years. Her dad has type 1 diabetes, with his blood sugar levels often dropping dangerously low. And her mom was diagnoses with Stage 4 brain cancer, or glioblastoma, in 2016. As if that wasn't enough, she never thought she would also see them hospitalized with COVID-19. It hasn't been easy, but she's dedicated her life to helping them — and loving them. Go inside her emotional journey in a powerful and moving video diary. She's sharing it all to help others find the strength they need in their own journies.
