How to Love Your Life!

My life has been in constant flux over the last 4 years. Despite the challenges I faced and the mountains I climbed, the one thing I always put first is my drive to do what I love: teach fitness classes. I still waitress and even though I don’t love it, it pays the bills. However, I never stop putting my classes at the gyms first. You can imagine just how busy I always am!

The key is that I’m doing what I love to do. Attention flows where energy goes. Even though I waitress to pay the bills, I put all of my extra energy into the classes I teach at both gyms. I trust that this will pay off for me. I hope to one day get more time teaching at the gym, which will help me earn the money I need by doing what I love.

You need a reason to spring out of bed in the morning. You must find something that you love to do so much that even if you won the lottery, you would still do it. That is loving what you do and loving your life.

If there’s one thing I can’t stand, it’s an excuse. Don’t limit yourself on any level – physical or mental. Don’t go through life hating what you do! Find a way to make it happen. Even one small step everyday towards doing what you love is still better than nothing.

What I have learned on my journey, especially over the last 4 years, is that change is good. At the end of every storm we weather, there is always a rainbow. I can’t stress enough how important it is to put yourself first. Find your passion and follow it no matter what. No excuses.

I have found that one simple change in your life can lead to many, many more. You’ll never know if you don’t try. I connect with many of you on so many levels and let me tell you that if I can do it, you can, too. Make the choice to love your life and follow your passion. You can do it. You hold the power to love your life!

4 Steps to Shedding Your Pandemic Pounds

Forgive yourself, and start walking toward a healthier you.

For those of you who have put on the Pandemic Pounds or added several new COVID Curves, you are not alone. Alarmingly, the American Psychological Association has recently published that almost half of all adults in their survey now have a larger physique. In fact, 42% of people reported gaining roughly 15 pounds (the average published was surprisingly 29 pounds but that included outliers) over the past year. Interestingly, 20% of adults in this survey lost about 12 pounds (I am surely not in this group). Clearly, there is a relationship between stress and weight change. In addition, one in four adults disclosed an increase in alcohol consumption, and 67% of participants distressingly revealed that they have new sleeping patterns.

This past year has brought about what has been called the 'new normal.' Social isolation and inactivity due to quarantining and remote working have sadly contributed to the decline in many people's mental and physical health, as demonstrated by the widespread changes in people's weight, alcohol consumption, and sleeping patterns. Gym closures, frequent ordering of unhealthy takeout, and increased time at home cooking and devouring comfort foods have had a perceptible impact. In addition, many people have delayed routine medical care and screening tests over fear of contracting Covid-19 during these visits. Unfortunately, the 'new normal' has now placed too many people at risk for serious health consequences, including heart attacks and strokes.
