My 12 Year Old Can Do It, So Can You!

This past winter, my 12 year old daughter, Summer, broke her ankle. During the time she was healing she gained 20 pounds! She was in a wheel chair, had to give up her winter time sports and spent a little too much time snacking.

This past winter, my 12 year old daughter, Summer, broke her ankle. During the time she was healing she gained 20 pounds! She was in a wheel chair, had to give up her winter time sports and spent a little too much time snacking.

Once she was 100% healed, I knew it was time for me to take action. I could tell she was unhappy with her weight gain. She is only 12 years old, but she was ready to listen to me in order to lose the weight. She has been following my eating healthy plan for over 2 weeks now and she never misses a day of exercise. She has lost 5 pounds so far and I’m so proud of her. As she sees the numbers going down on the scale from week to week, it only motivates her more. Every Monday morning is weigh-in time and let me tell you, there are some serious high fives going on after weigh-in.  


Summer is also leading by example for her peers and I’m so darn proud of her. If she can do it, so can you! Imagine a 12 year old following my advice and working on making her goals happen. This should really speak to some of you who continue to ask for my advice and then don’t follow it. Once again my own daughter is proving that my advice works and it works so easily that even a 12 year old can do it.

I love helping others achieve their goals and am so happy I could pass my knowledge along to my daughter. To have my 12 year old learn at such a young age how to stay fit, trim and healthy really rocks. She’ll grow up with the lessons I have taught her and continue to lead by example.
