Flashback! Six weeks ago was like any other day until I ate a bowl of organic O's and a spoonful of almond butter - only to find myself heaving over the porcelain goddess moments later. I love food; I don't just throw up for no reason. I dug under the kitchen sink for a pregnancy test and within seconds the biggest smile came across my face! I am pregnant! You know what that means; that's right, I ran to my coveted books and grabbed hold of my copy You: Having a Baby. I did not have this wonderful manual when I was pregnant with my first child, Benaiah. I couldn't wait to start reading it!
I want you all to know and observe throughout this new journey I'm embarking on, that it is possible to live healthy, and to be healthy during pregnancy and beyond. I am going to share my journey with all of you. I am going to post my weight gain, blood pressure, sugar levels and any other interesting info. I'll also post photos of my growing belly and if I can snag any video tape, I'll do that as well! I'll bare it all!
I'm also really excited to go through the Dr. Oz book together. Dr. Oz says that I possess the control pertaining to how the genes in my baby's body will express themselves, and I have the ability to deliver a lifetime of health to my child. It's all in this thing he calls a "biological dance." I am going to live out all the tips and tools he recommends.
Eating and living healthy is important in everyday life. I know I'm going to be hungrier these days and I'll post all of my favorite "eat big and healthy" meals! Even if you're not pregnant, you may just have a day where you could eat everything but the kitchen sink! I want to take you on this 9 month "dance!"
Dr. Oz asks me, "Would you like to dance?" The answer is hands up in the air - Yes! I invite you to share in this dance as well! Living healthy and staying healthy are possible! Stay tuned... we have a long road ahead of us because I'm only 7 weeks pregnant. The countdown begins!
