Recovering Food Addict

I am a food addict. Unemployment left me with such a large void in my life, and I filled that void with food and gained 100 pounds. I was still gaining weight up until the day that I appeared on The Dr. Oz Show. Currently, I am on the Dr. Oz Ultimate Diet Challenge. I have Dr. Roizen, a.k.a. “The Terminator” on my team. I send him my food diary and pedometer steps every day, along with my weight and waist measurements each week. I follow the program and plan my menus ahead of time.

Since I appeared on the show on February 9th, I have already lost 13.5 pounds and 4.5 inches off my waist. I no longer look to food to fill the void in my life, but have filled this void with friends and keeping active. Instead of waking up in the morning and feeling sorry for myself, I call a friend and meet them for a cup of tea or coffee and catch up on what’s going on in our lives. Since the show aired, I have received several phone calls from friends that I had lost touch with. Now my calendar is filled with plans to meet friends and share my life. 

I am no longer hungry and I am eating healthy and feel happy. I have a favorite snack that I would love to share with you. This snack for me is like eating ice cream. I combine 6 oz of non-fat plain Greek yogurt with 1/4 cup dried fruit or nuts. It is creamy and delicious, and contains active yogurt cultures which are so good for you.
