With hurricane season approaching, many are preparing for potentially hazardous conditions. Having an emergency kit handy is in your best interest and can save your life.

The same applies to your waist management. In order to be successful and avoid potentially hazardous conditions for your waist, you have to have an emergency kit ready and at hand at all times. When you are running short on time or just want a quick nibble, having the right things on hand such as fruits, nuts, hummus or raw veggies can help you to avoid making an unnecessary u-turn.

I have also found that sometimes I want something more than water and instead of grabbing a sip of the kid's juice I always have a flavored water packet on me. When I am in the mood for a little crunchy salty snack, I grab some cut up cucumbers. I add a little salt and chomp away.

I have come to learn a lot from my dear friend Toni Winston about always being prepared. As we go on YOU Gal events and speaking engagements, I can always count on Toni to have a handy snack pack available for us. This snack pack has recently consisted of a trail mix of almonds, cherries, and dark chocolate covered almonds - yummy! She always has some refreshing bottle of water with her and of course I have the packet of flavoring. This preparation kit avoids us from starving and making the wrong decisions while on the road.

The key to success is proper planning in anything you do. So while you're out buying the supplies for your hurricane emergency kit, stop at the grocery store and get some waist friendly foods to ward off disasters as well.

I promise you this kit will make all the difference.
