Alkaline Food Plan

Getting healthy is hard, but registered dietician Ashley Koff has developed a plan to make it a little easier! Instead of giving up many of your favorite toxifying foods for good, she's developed a plan that let's you eat some of your less-than-healthy favorites and offset the damage. The secret is alkaline-promoting foods. They may help neutralize potentially toxic acids created by common culprits in the American diet: meat and carbs. Get started on this simple food plan today!

Step #1: Know What You're Eating

Toxic acid-promoting foods include refined carbs, dairy and meats and poultry. These foods create the kind of acidic environment in your body that puts stress on your kidney and liver and may even increase the risk of diabetes. Foods that produce alkaline compounds in the body, however, help neutralize these effects. Knowing which foods are acid-promoting and which are alkaline-promoting is the first step to balancing your diet.\r\n

Drowning: How to Respond

It's critical to get the person breathing again as soon as possible.

Drowning can happen quickly. Three children die every day from drowning, and most fatal incidents happen from lack of appropriate supervision. Every minute that passes is critical in saving them or preventing serious injury. Here's what to do if you see someone drowning and you need to help rescue them.

Call 911

You should alert emergency responders as soon as possible. If there are other people around, instruct someone to make the call. If you are alone, help the drowning person until you can give CPR for one minute and then call 911 yourself (then continue life-saving measures).
