It’s that time of year – the time of lots of parties and the overeating that comes along with it. While the holidays can be an exciting time to see family and friends and have some fun, they can also cause a lot of stress for fear of gaining weight. Use these tips from Dr. Oz’s trusted experts to arm yourself with the hourly tools needed to make sure you get through each party this season without added guilt.
Make sure you are the last person in line for the dinner buffet. The food looks great when no one has touched it yet and that can make your eyes bigger than your stomach, says Kirkpatrick. But if you’re the last in line, you will have fewer choices and your reactions to the food will have dulled by the time it’s your turn to eat. Make sure to use a smaller plate for this line too and also avoid stacking things high on your plate and consuming more calories. Her cardinal rule for parties is “One trip, one plate, no tower.”
