After chowing down on a few slices of meaty pizza or a batch of spicy chicken wings, it happens again: an intense burning sensation begins to spread throughout your chest. But if you're not ready to turn down your favorite heartburn-triggering foods, Dr. James Rosser recommends eating just half your typical portion, then supplementing the meal with an alkaline shake like this one. The almond milk, almond butter, and bananas are on the opposite end of the spectrum from acid, which will help prevent that dreaded acid reflux, and while you may be skeptical of celery juice, it's incredibly alkaline and almost tasteless. 

1 cup unsweetened, vanilla almond milk
1/2 cup celery juice
1 banana, sliced
2 tbsp almond butter

1. Blend all ingredients together until smooth and enjoy!
