Twice Baked Potatoes

Bake your potato as you normally would and then take it out of the oven, slice it in half, scoop the flesh out, and mix ½ cup of cottage cheese and spices with the potato filling for the second bake. While this snack sounds decadent in theory, it’s actually a perfect pairing of resistant starch and protein. You can enjoy this dish without any of the guilt!

A: Being persistently hungry can cause big trouble. So can overeating for comfort/pleasure. They both can, however, end up fueling poor nutritional choices and obesity.

When hunger is your motive for eating, the question is: "Does your body know when you've had enough?" Well, if you are overweight, obese or have diabetes you may develop leptin resistance and your "I am full" hormone, leptin, can't do its job. The hormone's signal to your hypothalamus is dampened, and you keep eating.
