When picking a supplement, aim for a dose that is close to or less than 100% of the daily dose you should get. Dramatically more than that amount will just be eliminated by your body since it’s not needed. Mega doses of vitamins aren’t retained and used by your body. Instead, they’re filtered to needed levels and the rest is eliminated with your urine.
