From the time you wake up until the time you go to sleep, you encounter a lot of germs. Many places in your kitchen, bathroom, office, as well as items you use every day, can carry bacterium like salmonella and listeria. Find out where these germs are hiding so you can arm yourself with the knowledge and the disinfectant to fight them off.
If a smoothie is your go-to breakfast every morning, you may want to take a second look at your blender. When you wash the blender, it’s easy to skip the gasket — the rubber ring that holds the blade in place — which is a breeding ground for all kinds of bacteria. Between the fruit, yogurt, and veggie particles that can get trapped, bacteria can grow easily and get mixed into your smoothies. Take your blender apart completely after each use to make sure all parts are thoroughly washed. Additionally, make sure all parts are dry before reassembling in order to prevent the growth of mold.
