The 80/20 dieting principle has gained a lot of traction recently. The plan is based on two simple factors: eating healthy foods 80% of the time and being able to indulge 20% of the time. Learn how to successfully navigate this diet with these quick and easy starter steps.

Be Careful of Overestimating
You cannot estimate the quantity of 20% of your diet versus 80%. Trying to do so will most likely cause an overestimation of how many calories you should eat and what proper portion sizes are. Instead, do the math and find out exactly how many calories you have to eat in order to lose weight and then split that number into an 80/20 ratio.
