Unfortunately, just getting rid of the obvious things may not be enough. Here are some foods that you never would have guessed contain dairy.
This may surprise many people, but lactose and casein are often added to deli meats as an emulsifier to help blend the ingredients together. It’s also used to modify the flavor of the meat. It may not always be possible to read the meat ingredients, depending on where you’re buying the meat, but kosher varieties won’t have any dairy.
