Luckily, there are some quick and easy beauty tips you can employ when you’re feeling less than you’re best.
Hide Signs of Stress
If you are experiencing an acne flare up due to stress, holiday food indulgences, or cold weather, you may want to run and hide. Luckily, there are tons of fast-acting products on the market that can treat your spots and reduce the size and color quickly, so you will be ready to hit the party circuit without having to hide your face. Depending on the severity of your breakouts, you can use a lower percentage of benzoyl peroxide all over your face, but be sure to combat any dryness with a heavy duty moisturizer. To treat individual spots, you can use a higher concentration of benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid, and even look for face washes, scrubs, and concealers that contain these ingredients as well. Some people also benefit from charcoal masks, which draw out any impurities in the pores, and sulfur which kills bacteria and removes dead skin cells. You can also try icing your pimples before an event, since that will reduce the swelling and redness.
