Structural Back Pain: Nerve Stimulation
Structural back pain is most common among older people because it occurs when components of the structural integrity of the back—such as the spinal cord and discs—start to hurt. Dr. Shosany recommends more intensive treatments as a way to relieve such an in-depth problem like transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS). TENS uses a portable device that can relieve your pain on the go by shocking your body and sending signals up to the brain telling it to not feel the pain during the electric massage.
