Being healthy doesn’t stop at the physical. How healthy you are (and feel) is a product of your overall well-being, a combination of five different aspects within your life: sense of purpose, social relationships, financial security, connection with your community, and physical health. Gallup-Healthways released its 2016 State Well-Being Rankings, which examines how Americans across the nation are thriving within these five pillars. In addition to high purpose and social rankings, Arizona scored in the top 10 rankings for physical health. When it comes to physical well-being, there is a direct tie to overall well-being, the study shows. While millennials are more likely than any other age group to exercise, those with higher incomes are more likely to break a sweat as well. In terms of the fittest region, the West tends to have the highest rates of exercise.
