Avocados are the perfect healthy fat to add to your diet. Not only do they keep you fuller, longer, they are also filled with health benefits like omega-3 fatty acids and vitamins K, C, and E - to name just a few.
Most people check in the grocery store to see if an avocado is ripe by squeezing it. This is not the best test and can bruise the avocado. Instead remove the stem to test if it's ripe. If the stem doesn't come off easily it's not ripe yet. But, if the stem is removed successfully and with ease brown underneath indicates it's too ripe and a greenish yellow means it's just ripe enough. Give this test a try next time your shopping for some avocados.
