Cassandra's Candied Yams

1 lb sweet potatoes, cut in half
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 cup vanilla
1/2 cup oil
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
3 tbsp sugar-free maple syrup
5 pebbles allspice

Combine ingredients in slow cooker and cook on low for 6 hours.

Makes 12 servings.
