America's Test Kitchen came up with this dressing recipe that is loaded with healthy fats from the avocado. Pair this dressing with crisp lettuce and other crunchy ingredients to compliment the creaminess.
- 1 avocado, halved and pitted
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- 1/2 tsp hot sauce
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp red onion, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh cilantro, minced
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
1. Purée avocado, lime juice, and hot sauce in food processor until avocado is broken down, about 30 seconds.
2. Add remaining ingredients and process until dressing is completely smooth. The dressing makes one and a half cups and can be refrigerated for up to one week.
