chocolate hazelnut bars

Make a healthy dessert to satisfy your sweet tooth with this recipe. Dark chocolate and hazelnuts are a delicious combination that is both rich in antioxidants and healthy fats. Indulge in this DIY chocolate bar the next time a craving strikes. 

1 lb dark chocolate, 70% cacao
3/4 cup hazelnuts, roughly chopped
1/4 tsp Kosher salt

1. Place the chocolate onto a cutting board and have the edges of the chocolate bar with a serrated knife until the chocolate is in small pieces. 


2. Heat a small saucepot filled halfway up with water over medium heat. Place the chocolate into a heat-proof glass bowl and place over the pot of simmering water. Stir the chocolate often until melted and smooth.


3. Once melted, pour the chocolate onto a chilled sheet pan lined with parchment and smooth out evenly. Sprinkle the hazelnuts and salt evenly over the top of the chocolate and set aside to cool at room temperature. Once firm, break into pieces and store in an air-tight container at room temperature.
