It happens to all of us, those hungry blues. Instead of turning to pretzels or a baked good, give this healthy trail mix from Dr. Mark Hyman a try. It takes no more than a minute to make, and travels well. In this trail mix your favorite nuts will be accompanied by a natural, sweet touch from the shredded coconuts. The mix is protein and healthy fat rich; this will keep you feeling satiated longer than those go-to high-sugar snacks! 


  • 1 cup nuts, e.g. almonds and walnuts
  • 1 cup unsweetened shredded coconut


1. Mix together the nuts and coconut. 

2. Store in a Tupperware container. Put a palmful (one serving) into a ziplock bag to bring on the go and satisfy those midafternoon cravings.
